International Internships
The AIESEC Experience
AIESEC Ohio State can offer you an international internship in one of four categories:
Go Volunteer!
This is the most popular traineeship. A lot of these are based on issues surrounding community development. There is a very broad spectrum of things you can do with Go Volunteer. One thing that is common, the EP (exchange participant) is asked to work with the local community, understand their issues, and bring about a direct impact on that community.
Logistics: Duration- Shortest ones! 6-12 weeks
Pay: You don’t receive payment for these, but the good news! You don’t have to pay for your housing and other accommodations, such as meals (most of the time).
Go Teach!
Go Teach gives Exchange Participants the chance to teach! Most of these are teaching language skills (mostly English) or cultural awareness to kids aging from ages 6- High School Age. Many of these will ask the to bring in elements of their own culture, and share with the children. You can work in schools, language centers, universities.
Logistics: Duration- Usually 6-52 weeks. These can be really short or really long.
Pay- There usually is some salary-usually just enough to pay living expenses, food and provide a little pocket money.
Go Business!
Go Business is the category that contains professional business internships. These are our management style internships. The exchange participant will work with a corporation (most of the time) and work in various business fields such as finance, accounting, management, and human resources.
Logistics: Most are from 3months-1year. But you can do one for up to a year and half (72 weeks).
Pay: Salaries can range from $1,000/month-$3,000/month.
Go Technology!
Go Tech encompasses the smallest amount of the traineeships. These are jobs related to IT, software development, website development, engineering…etc.
Logistics: Very similar to business. 3-18 Months.
Pay: Salaries are very comparable to Go Business, $1000/month-$3000/month.
Where are most of these exchanges? The most active countries are India, China, and Brazil. Other popular countries are Columbia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hungary, Czech Republic, Egypt. These are just a few, there are still internships in over 100 other countries than those listed!
